Field Notes: Plants in full flower, and sparingly in ripe and unripe fruit. Leaves dull green, spotted dark purplish above , pale green beneath, witha purplish green mid-rib. Outer phyllaries recurved both in flower-bud and in the fully expanded flower; inner phyllaries adpressed, simple (not gibbous or appendaged), and pale purple at the apex. Corolla yellow striped dull purple, of dull purplish-brown beneath. Styles and its two recurved branches yellow.
